Time keeps on slipping....

I haven't been here in a while.  My mom had heart surgery and I've been out of the loop while trying to take care of her.  Things have begun to return to normal and mom is doing quite well.

Although I've not been about, I am still using my skills.  I created a keynote presentation and spoke at a weekend retreat in September, the first "power point" presentation ever  on the retreat.

My article proposal sent to the JRME was denied.  However, with some encouragement from a friend, I sent in an application to present my AR project at the NYSCATE conference in November, and it was ACCEPTED!  So, I'll be in Rochester giving an hour presentation on my AR project and demonstrating my research to others at a state level.   So at least it will be shared with someone.

I am looking forward to repeating my project with a different set of students this year.  I will be working with the librarian this time, where she can help students work on their research of the Underground Railroad and I can concentrate more on the musical aspects of spirituals.  I hope it will be more meaningful for the students and give them better research skills, and yet allow for their creativity of expressing what they've learned.

So, that's the story.  My goal is to try and keep up with blogging  my journey as an educator and graduate of EMDT at Full Sail.  Here's to you Full Sailors!  Keep the faith and drink the koolaid! :o)
